If you like traditional rods and customs, then the Lonestar Roundup should be on your bucket list. Here's a few of the highlights:
Chris Shuller's '61 Falcon two-door wagon:
Joe Kerr's 401-powered '30 coupe, which he drove all the way from Indy with Aussie expat Keith Burgan:
George Poteet's '50 Ford:
Alan Johnson's bitchin' '32 roadster:
Jimmy Hervatin's '30 pickup:
TJ Akin's '36 Ford runs an LS motor with a massive single turbo set up in the boot
Jeff Sharer's '36 Plymouth coupe was different and tasty:
The Austin Speed Shop '55 Chev
Not pretty, but pretty wild: Fred Curnow's sectioned and narrowed '61 Buick
There were quite a few early Falcons in town, including a couple of gassers
After the show (which cost only $10 to get into and included a cacklefest and mini bike races) our armbands got us into the after-party at the Austin Speed Shop...with live music and free beer!
Bob Bleed is the Speed Shop's chassis guy, but it turns out he is a pretty good muso too with his band the Jade Idols.
Just one of the awesome projects inside:
