Gotta sleep, but here is a quick update on Big Knob's assault on Bonneville:
Despite mega winds, a dust storm and a major traffic jam into Wendover thanks to some State Troopers shooting dead an errant motorist, we made it to the sacred ground safe and sound. The car was given a pre-inspection in California and a few changes needed to be made to the car's roll cage - nothing major, but it required a couple of days of full-on work. That done, the POP Racing team hauled the '34 to Utah, while we cruised up in hire cars. Scruitineering was very thorough, but also very friendly and knowledgeable.
That done, the crew gave everything the once-over. The new 466ci Mat Lagoon-built Ford big block sounds AWESOME.
The car was then tucked up from the uncertain weather (high winds last night wrecked havoc in the pits) and we had time to check out the eye candy. I dug this Stovebolt-powered A roadster pick up
Then it was off to the Nugget Casino for the annual car show :-)

A street-registered belly tank? Not sure if it meets the letter of the law, but it had lights, indicators, a passenger seat and mirrors. And yep, he drove it out!
