For up and coming photographers, the holy grail of shooting any big event or concert is the Access All Areas pass — the laminated golden ticket that allows you to get close to the action. But unless photography is your full-time job, getting your hands on such a pass is tricky — especially at Summernats!
Now we’re giving you the chance to win a spot on the Street Machine team for Summernats 25 and take your place alongside the pros. Not only will be given the elusive pass to shoot for Street Machine but we’ll fly you in from your nearest capital city, put you up in our hotel and bring you along to our VIP party too.
Winning won’t be easy though — you’ll have to show us that you can master action shots (think burnouts, drag racing and cruising) as well as static car shoots, and people as well.
To enter, you’ll need to build a portfolio of work during the year, by submitting photos to readerscars@acpmagazines.com.au, onanysunday@acpmagazines.com.au, Budget Built, Iron Maiden, People Like Us, Young Guns and Speed Camera - streetmachine@acpmagazines.com.au. The more of your shots that make the magazine, the better chance you’ll have!
At the end of the year, the Street Machine art staff and a panel of photographers will study each portfolio and choose a winner. The best images will be published in a special feature story in the Jan 2012 issue and the winner will be off to Summernats 25 on 5-8 January, 2012!
Get shooting now — the Acces all Areas competition closes 1 November.

Young or old mate, we're not fussed! I'll check out your account, but part of the skill we are looking for is that you can look at the mag, see what photos would suit the different sections...to best show off your mastery of static, action and people shots.
cheers,
ST

Hey mate, you'll need to send in examples of static shoots to readers cars, with the action and people stuff generally to onanysunday.
Studio is a-ok, but don't let any models you use overwhelm the cars - see what we publish and aim for that.

Nice cheap way to get photos....

Hey Cliff, anyone who gets their shots published in one sections such as People Like Us, In the Build, Young Guns or Speed Camera will all be paid the standard rate (Speed Camera pays $400 by the way). Photos that make the usual reader pages (Readers' Cars, On Any Sunday) don't get paid, but have a prize.
