Tug in the Park 2011 - Golden Oldie

 
This sweet HQ Monaro was originally featured way back in SM Aug/Sept '82 and was built by Trevor Kougais, who started out with a rough and ready LS. Under the bonnet was a tunnel rammed 350 Chev, backed by a Super T10 'box and 3.5:1 9in. The rims were US Racers with BFG T/As (naturally). Updating the looks was the South African grille, GTS flutes and front spoiler, with 14 coats of Mandarin Red over the top. This thing gets around. Followed it up to the Lady Luck Festival in Katoomba a couple of weeks ago and then I see it down at Tug. Tough!

My favourite ride of this year's Tug (a little rod run at Stanwell Tops, NSW) was Laurie Bellette's 1938 Ford COE. The truck runs a C20 chassis and small-block Chev combo for many effortless miles of cruising.
