The Chopped Rod and Custom Show was held in Newstead, Victoria over the weekend. It was a low key little shindig for traditional rods and customs, held on the local footy grounds. Newstead is just up the road from Castlemaine and let me tell ya, the whole area is just gorgeous, with lots of great driving roads and cool old buildings. Most of the entrants were from Victoria, though I came down from Sydney and a small posse drove across from Adelaide, including Michael Ahrens in his Pontiac-powered A tudor.
A little pitstop. The roadster belongs to Richard Townsend and is a very historic Aussie hot rod.
One of my favourite cars of the event - the John 'Chopper' Katsanis-built '32 roadster, complete with Y-block power and neat cycle guards.
There weren't too many bikes at the show, but Simon Watts showed them how it is done with his neat A7 BSA 500cc beastie, now a regular on the streets of Melbourne.
